Stanbic IBTC Set To Hold 6th Edition of Youth Leadership Series

Stanbic IBTC Holdings Plc, a member of Standard Bank Group, has announced that the 6th edition of its annual Youth Leadership Series (YLS) will hold on 6 April 2023. The theme for this year’s edition is “Winning in Career and Business.

YLS is a flagship initiative of Stanbic IBTC designed to foster leadership skills and inspire young people to impact their communities positively. The programme empowers youths to learn, network, and develop the skills necessary to thrive in today’s fast-paced and ever-changing landscape.

The event will feature various activities, including interactive sessions, panel discussions, and networking opportunities with seasoned professionals from multiple industries. The sessions will cover different topics, including leadership, technology, communication, problem-solving, entrepreneurship, and so on, attendees would hear from experienced professionals and entrepreneurs who have excelled in their respective fields. Top Nigerian artiste, Crayon, will also be performing at the event.

The keynote speaker for the event is the Honourable Sunday Akin Dare,Minister of Youth and Sports Development of the Federal Republic of Nigeria. The event will host seasoned speakers such as Uche Uzoka Annie, Certified Professional Chef and Owner of Gourmet Twist; Williams Fatayo, CEO/Co-founder, TruQ; Sandrah Tubobereni, Creative Director, TUBO and Temitope Onisarotu, Marketing Manager, Corporate and Investment Banking, Stanbic IBTC Bank.

Other speakers include Dr. Buogo Obi-Oketuyi, CEO, Wooddesigns; Derin Philips, also known as DJ Calse; Engr. Oyesiji Oyewale, Automation Engineer, and Ivie Temitayo-Ibitoye, HR Expert.

Elsie Godwin, a versatile media communications professional and Lead at Mind-Mastik Media, will moderate the 2023 YLS.

Dr. Demola Sogunle, Chief Executive, Stanbic IBTC Holdings, described YLS as a part of the company’s commitment to supporting the development of young people in Nigeria. “We believe that young people have the potential to be great leaders and agents of change in their communities. Our goal with the YLS is to help them unlock that potential and provide the tools and resources they need to succeed.”

Demola further stated “Since 2017, we have inspired and empowered young Nigerians to become influential future business leaders through YLS. Through this program, young individuals learn from seasoned professionals, gain practical experience and develop the skills they need to succeed in their chosen careers. Over the years, this event has become a reputable platform for grooming young leaders in Nigeria, helping them to become successful entrepreneurs, corporate leaders, and change-makers in their communities.”

YLS is just one of many initiatives Stanbic IBTC has launched to support Nigeria’s youth. The financial instituiton has also provided funding and support for various youth-focused programs and initiatives, including scholarships, talent development programs, and sports development programs.
