NNPC debunks rumour of aviation fuel shortages, says over 80 million litres in stock

The Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation (NNPC) has dispelled insinuations of aviation fuel scarcity in the country.

The NNPC in a statement, in Abuja, on Wednesday by its Group General Manager, Group Public Affairs Division, Ndu Ughamadu appealed to Nigerians to disregard the rumour.

The corporation affirms that the current Nationwide Aviation Fuel stock holding is robust enough at over 80 million Liters translating to more than 37 days sufficiency, stressing that Airline operators and other consumers of aviation fuel are assured of adequate stock to meet their energy needs.

NNPC further advice marketers to refrain from any act that could impede the supply and distribution of this products while the Corporation would do all it could to sustain the seamless supply of the product nationwide.

“Nigerians should remain vigilant and volunteer information to the Department of Petroleum Resources (DPR), the Industry regulator or to any law enforcement agency around them, on anyone that attempts to take expense of the consumers or hoard the product,”, the statement said.
